    Dr. Mark Hamilton is a highly experienced crowd safety, security and event management specialist, with more than 50 years’ experience in security and crowd management worldwide. He has developed extensive knowledge of the planning and operational requirements needed to keep spectators, audiences, participants and performers safe across a wide range of events and venues. Mark was Managing Director of Ground Operations for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, with responsibility for 16,000 security personnel deployed over 19 months across 132 venues.     Andrew Tatrai, PhD, is an experienced crowd management professional and innovator in crowd safety and risk management. Beginning his career in 1980 while studying at university, he developed a lifelong commitment to protecting people at live events and concerts. Andrew helped pioneer crowd management education and operational practices in Australia, focusing on planning, crowd observation, intervention, and barrier management.     Colin is CEO of Headline Security Management Limited and Headline Security Management LLC, with more than 30 years’ experience in event security, tour security and crowd safety. His career began in 1993 with Topguard UK, a leading event security company, where he progressed rapidly to Operations Manager, overseeing major events ranging from large-scale dance events to Monsters of Rave at Donington, attended by approximately 125,000 people.     John Drury is a professor of social psychology. He has been researching crowd behaviour for over 35 years, including collective behaviour in emergencies, live music events, and crowd conflict. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles on crowds and related topics. His research has informed the UK National Risk Assessments, UK government guidance on communication in crises, and UK Fire and Rescue Service training.     Keith has over 36 years of consulting experience across a range of international crowd safety and has advised on crowd behavior, crowd risks and crowd safety considerations for events of 500 people to 3,000,000 people. He teaches the principles and application of crowd safety around the world, from basic introduction courses, through to Master’s Degree programmes. One of his courses is mandatory training for all UK Public Event Commanders a the College of Policing. Prof. Still earned his PhD in Crowd Dynamics at the University of Warwick, where he developed the Legion modelling system—one of the most influential tools in crowd simulation. His research and consultancy have informed the safe delivery of some of the world’s most high-profile events, from the Hajj pilgrimages in Makkah to the Olympic Games in Sydney and London, the Royal Wedding in London, and New Year celebrations in Sydney, London, and Dubai. He designed the Public Event Commander programme, now mandatory training for UK Police Public Event Commanders and adopted internationally. Through his training courses (Levels 3–7) and widely read textbooks (Introduction to Crowd Science and Applied Crowd Science), he has professionalized crowd safety across policing, events, and emergency management. Prof. Still is a sought-after expert witness, having contributed to inquiries into major crowd-related tragedies, including Hillsborough.     Dr Pascal Viot is a sociologist, lecturer and internationally recognised specialist in event safety, crowd management and risk governance. He combines more than 30 years’ operational and strategic experience in live events with academic expertise in crowd dynamics, public safety and the management of major gatherings. He is Founder and Director of iSSUE, the Swiss Institute for Urban and Event Safety, providing consultancy, training and applied research in event safety, urban security and crowd management. He is also Strategic Advisor to Paléo Festival Nyon, Switzerland’s largest open-air festival, where he previously served for nearly two decades as Director of Safety, Security and Services. Dr Viot is a Lecturer and Associate Researcher at the Urban Sociology Laboratory at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). His research focuses on crowd behaviour, event risk governance, crisis management, organisational culture, policing strategies and decision-making in complex live environments. His doctoral research examined the secured territory of contemporary major events through the Paléo Festival and UEFA EURO 2008. He advises event organisers, venues, promoters and public authorities across Europe on crowd safety, event risk management and crisis preparedness. His experience spans festivals, concerts, sporting events, conferences and major public gatherings, supported by extensive international speaking, training and knowledge-sharing activity. He also coordinated the YOUROPE Event Safety Group until 2026, bringing together safety professionals from major European festivals and events. Dr Viot holds a PhD in Urban Sociology, Risk and Security in Major Events from EPFL and a Certificate in Festivals, Stadia and Venue Safety from Buckinghamshire New University. He lectures on the Professional Certificate in Event Safety and Crowd Management delivered for the National Arena Association in the UK. In 2025, he received the Arthur Award at the International Live Music Conference in recognition of his contribution to the live event industry. While he does not formally operate as an expert witness, he provides strategic advisory and consultancy services relating to crowd safety, event risk management and crisis preparedness.

    Dr Steve Frosdick is Director of IWI Associates Ltd. His experience includes safety and security at sports grounds, policing and other risk management disciplines. Clients include public assembly facilities managers and their representative organisations, sporting bodies, universities and publishers as well as police and criminal justice organisations. Since 2008 he has worked across the world as an independent expert, including over eleven years with UEFA. He advises individual stadiums and clubs and operates as a stadium safety officer. As an academic, Steve has published five books and numerous papers. He was previously a Visiting Professor at Birmingham City University. Steve has worked as an expert witness on safety at sports grounds and event risk management for lawyers acting for football clubs and public liability insurers. He was instructed as a ‘shadow’ expert by lawyers acting for one of the interested parties in the new inquests for the 97 persons who died as a result of the 1989 Hillsborough Disaster. Using the Coroner’s terms of reference to his own experts on stadium engineering and policing, he prepared ‘shadow’ reports on the two expert areas and briefed the client’s team of solicitors and barristers.

    With decades of experience in the live entertainment industry, Tim has worked onstage, backstage and consulted on a huge range of shows, including festivals, sporting events, national celebrations, and concerts. 25 years ago he founded The Event Safety Shop consultancy in the UK and is the CEO of Creative Safety Inc., Austin, TX. Alongside delivery of multiple national and international projects each year, he has been actively involved in developing standards and guidance for the entertainment sector in the UK and elsewhere. Training, teaching and presenting are also important strands of activity. A Founding Director of the Event Safety Alliance (USA), Tim holds an MSc in Crowd Safety and Risk Analysis and has contributed to multiple guidance documents for the concert and event industry. He is an active member of the UK Crowd Management Association and the Global Crowd Management Alliance and has experience of work on government advisory panels. His work extends from senior roles at major music festivals (including Glastonbury and Reading), through crowd management and risk consulting at Formula 1 Grands Prix (Monza, Las Vegas, Saudi Arabia). He has been retained as an expert witness in cases including Astroworld in 2021 and other serious event-related cases.
