Michelle and Brian Dubiski, Madison’s parents
Madison Alexis Dubiski was a vibrant, kind-hearted young woman whose life was tragically taken at the age of 23 in the 2021 Astroworld concert crowd crush, a preventable tragedy that claimed nine other lives, and injured hundreds.
In honor of her memory and to prevent future tragedies, her family established the Pink Bows Foundation.
The Pink Bows Foundation was born from a single pink bow inspired by the hashtag #pinkbowsformadison, which began after Madison’s passing as a tribute to her.
This first pink bow was placed at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, the site of Travis Scott's Astroworld Music Festival, which ended in the loss of ten lives. From there, the movement quickly spread across the U.S. and internationally. People began placing pink bows at homes, shopping centers, schools, and landmarks, eventually reaching naval bases and countries in the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa—all in honor of Madison and others impacted by the tragedy.
The founding of the Pink Bows Foundation was inspired by this outpouring of love and the name came to represent the organization’s mission to achieve systemic, global impact:
Develop crowd safety measures to prevent tragedies at large events.
Help create policies to improve safety standards.
Advance education and preparedness for large scale event organizers and managers.
Help meet the needs of vulnerable communities and “sprinkle kindness like confetti” as Madison loved to say.
We establish designated areas within festivals, live concert venues, or other large-scale events where attendees can step away from the crowd and reset. These spaces are designed to provide emotional and mental health support to those who may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or uneasy during an event.
We have developed a Showstop® Procedure training and certification to empower event organizers to pause or halt large-scale events when crowd safety is compromised. The Showstop® Procedure rapidly focuses the audience’s attention to reduce the risk of incident escalation, injury or worse.
Education is a starting point to preventing harm. Our Showstop® Procedure courses and certifications equip event organizers with the knowledge and skills necessary to handle crowd safety emergencies when they arise.
Our Pink Bows Foundation Scholarships are awarded yearly in partnership with the Cy Fair Educational Foundation to student leaders committed to community service. Additionally, we fund scholarships for students pursuing undergraduate degrees in Risk Management and Crowd Safety. Investing in education is key to shaping the future of event safety.
We assist children battling cancer and support individuals and families with special needs, helping them find comfort, stability, and a sustainable quality of life.
Raise awareness about crowd safety. Share our story and inspire others to take action.
