An intimate group of approximately 250 friends, parents and family attended a beautiful, yet extremely emotional event honoring and celebrating the life of Madison Dubiski on May 1, 2022.
This date has added significance, as it would have been Madison’s 24 th birthday and was the first time outside of a private small family memorial after her tragic passing that her closest friends and their families that shared Madison’s life, were able to come together to celebrate her life. It was a day of memories, grievance, and remembrance.
The evening began with a beautiful butterfly release to memorialize and celebrate Madison for truly having such an impactful and beautiful life. As each individual had their own butterfly to open and release, while whispering their wish and message to be delivered to Madison above, a larger box of butterflies were released simultaneously to honor all of the victims and their families that lost their lives abruptly the night of November 5th , 2021 while attending Travis Scott’s Astroworld Festival.
The night continued with all attendees singing “Happy Birthday” to Madison with an amazing saxophonist playing in the background and a huge and abundantly pink 5-tier birthday cake that was everything “Madison-esque” down to the lighted sparklers.
To finalize this special gathering, the family of Madison Dubiski officially launched the “Pink Bows Foundation” in her honor and to continue her legacy of giving and supporting initiatives that were important to her – childhood cancer, special needs, education, and safety. With safety they will begin breaking down barriers and pushing for increased security measures and protocols to ensure another tragedy such as Astroworld Festival is mitigated and all patrons will be safe.
The inaugural Showstop Procedure training and certification takes place in Houston this month in honor of Madison Dubiski, who was 23 when she was killed at the Astroworld Festival in 2021. Read article on BizBash.
