Astroworld tragedy doc debuts on Netflix as victim’s family seeks to prevent future deaths

‘Trainwreck’ chronicles Travis Scott’s harrowing Houston festival that killed 10 people and
injured more. The family of victim Madison Dubiski ghts against future tragedies with their
Pink Bows Foundation.

Imagine literally drowning in an ocean of other people, the sway of the crowd
acting as a deadly undertow that pulls you under until you cannot breathe.

“The Astroworld Tragedy,” the latest in Netix’s “Trainwreck” documentary series,
leans hard into this idea as the fateful 2021 Travis Scott concert — at which 10
people in the crowd — unfolds. Hectic footage taken from social media shows
desperate faces, and the audio frequently changes to sound like it is underwater.
In the background, the pyrotechnics of Scott’s spirited performance more
accurately resemble a hurricane someone is rapping over.

A Houston Chronicle investigation into the festival found that several key failures
in planning led to the deaths. “Trainwreck” highlights these failures starkly. In
